We organise a full calendar of events. These include walks, talks and conservation activities designed to introduce people to and educate people about the Blackwater Valley and its wildlife. Attending an event is a great way to get exercise and make new friends. We hope to meet you at one of our events.
Volunteer to support an event
Support at an event is always very welcome:
- collecting donations/charges
- handing out BVCT leaflets
- acting as a back marker to walks.

Our third Big Valley Ramble will be an 11 mile circular walk, with a shorter 5 mile option. Our reputation for scenic and well organised walks means that everything, including light refreshments, is completely taken care of. Tickets are selling fast – book your ticket now
The ramble will take you through some of the most delightful scenery that Berkshire has to offer – the quintessentially English country lanes and paths that link Arborfield and Swallowfield. Spring’s wildlife and landscape will be in all its glory. Bring the family for a great day out!
We’ll first go to Farley Hill – the midpoint of the short walk. The more energetic walkers will then venture along stretches of the Blackwater and Broadwater rivers, visiting Swallowfield for a lunch stop before returning to Aborfield Cross.
