Timeline of our adoption

- Chris Smith (BVCT Trustee) was first introduced to the Southeast Communities Rail Partnership (SCRP) at the Blackwater and Hawley Annual Town meeting in 2018. It soon became obvious that there was a lot of common ground between our organisation's objectives and because of the Trust's geographical location and communication network it was a partnership match.

- BVCT Board accepts principles of a joint venture. Rail to Trail (in the Blackwater Valley) was born, BVCT joins SCRP Steering group.

- BVCT, SCRP, GWR, CRN work together on projects on the six stations along the North Downs Line in the Blackwater Valley. The value to nature, the environment, health and wellbeing, of working together have been developed through on site projects, events, publicity and community engagement.

- BVCT selects North Camp Station to adopt, with the intention of making the station a better passenger experience bringing on board community pride and sense of place. The projects since this adoption have been rewarding and have raised the levels of ambiance and wildlife habitat enormously.

onwards. For more insights into what has been achieved at the station why not browse through the photos below. BVCT, the Friends of North Camp Station and all its rail partners continue to work on bringing, exploring the countryside and sustainable travel, closer together.
