1. A Brief History of the Blackwater Valley

     Come along to the Canal Centre, Mytchett Place Road, Mytchett, Surrey GU16 6DD (Grid ref: SU 894 548), at 7.30pm to hear Christine Reeves give an illustrated talk on A Brief History of the Blackwater Valley and find out how the Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership and the Trust itself came to be formed. 1. Spring Bluebell Walk

   • Description:

     Join Adrian Humphries for a Spring Bluebell Walk, a pleasant five-mile spring walk of contrasts taking in some beautiful scenery in the Finchampstead area. The route will pass through Finchampstead Ridges and Coalpit Copse – where we hope to see the bluebells – along the Blackwater Valley Path and round the Moor Green Lakes and Horseshoe Lakes area . There are some slopes and uneven ground and parts could be muddy so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. The walk will last between 2-3 hours. Meet at Horseshoe Lake car park, Mill Lane Sandhurst GU47 8JW ( grid ref SU 821 620) for a 10am start. Free to Trust members, visitors are invited to make a donation.      Join Colin Wilson to hear the magic of the dawn chorus. Meet in the car park at Lakeside Nature Reserve, Lakeside Road, Ash (grid ref SU 887 518) at 5.00 a.m. – yes, the birds start early so we will have to do so too. The short amble will last 2 hours at the most. Binoculars are not essential but will be useful. It will be cool at that time of the morning.
