Waitrose Donation - 13th July 2011

On Tuesday, 13 July Chris Bean (Trustee) and Stuart Croft (Blackwater Valley Countryside Ranger) travelled over to the Waitrose Conference Centre, Bracknell to receive a donation from Waitrose’s  Community Matters programme. 

The donation followed on from a Corporate Day in late 2010, attended by 20 staff from the Companies Systems Department, when they spent an enjoyable day helping to erect a stock fence at Moor Green Lakes with Stuart and Chris.  Those attending the day felt the work being done by Blackwater Valley Countryside was appropriate to be nominated for support under the Community Support programme.  This was accepted and resulted in a cheque for £1360 being presented to the Trust to help continue its work. 

It goes without saying that we were overwhelmed by this extremely generous donation and the Trust  will be giving careful thought how to put the money to good use.  The picture shows Stuart receiving the cheque from Chris Bothwell (Chair, Waitrose Bracknell Forum) and David McLellan (Waitrose Systems).
