22 people joined us to hunt for wildflowers at Sandhurst.
This walk was part of the Trust’s support of the Sandhurst Chelsea Fringe activities.
The afternoon was dry after a morning of sunshine and we followed the paths into the meadows to seek our rewards.
We had plenty of expertise to help us - Irene Draper, Steve Bailey and Bernard Baverstock provided much needed guidance while some rather well worn but vital books helped sort some of the more challenging species!
The number of species recorded was in the dozens.
The timing was not perfect as many of the flowers would normally be more apparent in weeks to come but we still found a lot of interest by close inspection.
