This walk starts at Lakeside Park and goes north along the river, returning via the Basingstoke Canal.
We'll explore the network of paths and lakes in Lakeside Country Park and will also visit the reclaimed Hollybush Hill.
We'll also see some changes along the Blackwater river. Last year we passed close to the Ash Ranges but checking recently revealed that forestry work now being undertaken has made some of the paths we took unusable, so we will have an extended walk along the picturesque canal.
This is a gentle walk to start the programme, just under six miles with a couple of slight inclines but no stiles.
The surface is mostly good although includes an occasional muddy patch.
