This walk to Caesar's Camp will be approximately 5.5 miles.
There are no stiles but a small fence to be stepped over twice. We have to cross the busy Bourley Road twice so dogs on leads please.
This is the southern of the two areas of the same name in our area. It's the one between Aldershot and Fleet and we will be starting from the Wellington Statue car park at 10:00 am.
We'll start by heading up a ridge - this is a climb of about 1.5 miles with a couple of sharp gradients to the camp itself.
We'll then visit a couple of the ponds on the high ground before descending to the picturesque reservoir and making our way back through some interesting woodland and for those with energy left at the end, some steps up to the Wellington statue itself.
Despite the name, Caesar's Camp is an Iron Age hill fort and we will pass through some of the surviving ramparts of mounds and ditches. Hopefully there will be some great views if the recent good weather holds.
